How fees work
Insurance we work with
I am out of network with insurance plans, which means I do not bill your plan directly. I do not bill Medicare or Medicaid. If you want a psychologist who does, tell me and I will help you look.

If you pay yourself
I tell you the fee for the whole evaluation in writing before you book, so you know it before you commit. A small number of reduced-fee spots are held for people who need them; ask when you write. Testing visits are set aside for you alone, so I ask for 48 hours of notice to cancel or move one.

Receipts for reimbursement
After you pay, I send an itemized receipt, called a superbill, that you may send to your plan if it reimburses out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code, which your plan will see. Your plan decides whether it pays you back, and how much.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of your costs before care starts, and I give you a written estimate in advance. If a bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Before your first session, I can tell you what to ask your plan about out-of-network benefits, and whether psychological testing needs approval first. I cannot promise what a plan will pay, so it is worth asking them first.
